I also noticed this charge on my Citi MasterCard for the 1st time this month. Since I’ve not been out of the country, it must have been an online purchase. I never knew that I was paying this before. Good to know, and also good to know that other cards charge less. Time to look for another card for “offshore purchases”.

Hayek Leather Furniture Inc. problem problems complaint complaints
In business since 1992, owner alleges to not know where his furniture is manufactured.

Owner uses “Canada and USA” as countries of manufacture origin to sell sofas and chairs when products really come from Mexico.

We would not have purchased items had we known they were from Mexico. We would not have offered as much for furniture and would not have purchased items.

Charged $2500 more than we agreed to pay for furniture.

At point of sale, all four customer warranty manufacturers tags were not provided.

Still uncertain as to who manufacturer of leather purchases are.

Would not recommend this Lynwood Washington furniture store to friends or family.

3% charge - (1%) cash back = 2% overall.

In some other cases (3%-5% cash back offers that discover has on select purchases) you could technically still be at an advantage. Your propensity to get more may be reduced. I guess you win some you lose some.
