The majority of my financial news comes from four different sources:
- Recorded CNBC programs
- WSJ
- finance.yahoo.com
- personal finance blogs
I tend to get up in the morning, and since I’m on the west coast, start skimming through CNBC programs such as Morning Call and Power Lunch. The general overview that these programs provide is convenient and I can skip back and forth using my Media PC to pick up the highlights that I want.
During the day I check the Wall Street Journal for more in-depth articles. I keep stock symbols loaded on Yahoo’s finance page and reload the realtime quotes quite often. Thinking about it, I’m sure there are much much better systems out there for both research and monitoring stock quotes. My investment strategy tends to be buy and hold, so keeping perfect up to the minute information is not necessary since I rarely trade on news.
What do others use to get their daily dose of news and keep track of their portfolio?

For news, I use the web (sites and blogs) almost 100%. For information (a bit more in-depth coverage of less “newsy” topics), I use the web and magazines. For keeping track of stocks, I use Quicken and download prices every couple of weeks (I don’t watch day-to-day fluctuations).
