Our quest to get a leather sofa ended as nicely as it possible could have, a friend gave us an excellent one. So a few weekends ago, I rented a truck from Budget Rental and went over to his house to pick it up. We moved it out of his garage and into our house.
It’s in quite good condition, especially after we vacuumed it out and cleaned it (6 parts water to 1 part Woolite is a great leather cleaner). So the entire thing cost me the rental truck fee and a nice gift for more friends. That means our leather sofa only cost us about $200.
Moral of the story, let your friends and family know when you are searching for big purchases that others may be getting rid of. You never know how nice an item you might get for free.
