This weekend marked the beginning of packing so that we’re ready to move on the 19th. Packing is one of those completely unoptimized tasks. We decided to pack ourselves since we have plenty of time for this move and the cost of movers did not seem worth it. Over the last few weeks we acquired as many boxes in all different shapes and sizes that we could. We had the most luck grabbing boxes from large corporations.
Unfortunately, it is not as easy to find packing paper. Clean blank paper is critical if you don’t want newsprint all over everything. Ended up getting 10lbs of it for ~$14, which seemed a bit high to me at $1.4/lbs. Not really sure what the going rate is though, and since I didn’t have a huge amount of time to shop around and nothing to compare to I just bought it. Not having a basis for comparison makes shopping extremely difficult.
So over the next two weeks we will be packing little by little.
